Understanding the Bisque

This page presents various types of subjects drawn using the bisque technique and adaptations of it. The full-colour drawings are in dry pastel produced by using Derwent pencils and Rembrandt sticks. The sepia drawings are produced by overlaying several Derwent tones in this range. "Enhanced graphite" drawings are created by overlay of several densities of graphite in drawing pencils. Where appropriate for a particular example, there will be comments on methods used and challenges faced.
